Near Ipswich - area around Shotley Point. A 7-mile circular walk with river views of the Orwell and Stour; break for lunch at the Queen's Head at Erwarton http://www.erwartonqueen.co.uk/ - tel 01473 787550, if you would like to book. Starting point - Bristol Arms on the waterfront at Shotley Gate - plenty of on-road parking. Directions: leave A14 at Junction 56, signposted to Ipswich central, Ipswich Docks and Shotley. Follow A137 down hill towards Ipswich. At first roundabout, next to Fox's Marina, turn right onto B1456, keeping the River Orwell on your left.
