Dry Drayton - The first walk of the Autumn 2002 season was a short local one, of five miles from Dry Drayton through Bar Hill and Lolworth, towards Childerley Hall and back to Dry Drayton. Park at or near the Black Horse at Dry Drayton (TL382622)

Local Churches - The second walk is a longer one of perhaps 8 miles, starting and finishing in Comberton, passing the churches of Toft, Caldecote, Bourne and Kingston. There should be an opportunity for lunch at a pub on the way, but don’t eat too much, because Mel has invited us all to afternoon tea at her house! That’s at West Acre, 47 West Street, Comberton.

Paxton Pits, Offord – 9 miles, starting at Diddington, off A1, North of St Neots. Drive through village to reach the Nature Reserve car park (TL195655). Alternatively meet at CVC car park at 9:30 to fill cars first. Bring binoculars for birds. Refreshments usually available at visitors centre, or bring packed lunch.

Cambridge Northern Fringe, Milton & Science Park – 6 miles through lesser-known parts of the green edge of the city. Drive down road opposite Tesco, to meet in Milton Country Park (TL477621), for a ramble passing through Cambridge Science Park, the disused railway line, the Mere Way Roman road, and Milton Country Park.
