West Wickham (near Haverhill) – Meet at the church in West Wickham (TL613492) for a walk of about 5 miles through rolling countryside, passing fields and woods, and following the Roman road between Horseheath and Streetly End.

Reach and Devil’s Dyke (TL566662) – Meet near the Dyke End public house in Reach (left off the B1102 in Swaffham Prior). The walk is about 5 miles following Devil’s Dyke (iron age fortification), and a fenland drove, passing also the site of a Roman port.

Old Warden – Meet in the entrance to the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden Airfield (TL 151448), which is on the B658 going west from the A1 at Biggleswade. The walk covers 8 miles via Old Warden, Northill and Ickwell Green. It would be wise to bring a packed lunch, as pub food is not guaranteed.

Willingham and River – Park at the churchyard wall in Willingham (TL405705), for a fenland walk of about 6 miles including a section along the River Ouse. This walk passes "Milking Hills" at a height of 5 metres above sea level!

Hardwick Millennium Footpath – Meet at the village sign near St Mary’s Church and the Blue Lion public house in Hardwick (TL372586) for a seven-mile circuit of this new footpath, which goes via Caldecote Highfields. Wimpole Hall – afternoon walk and evening barbecue. Meet in stable block car park of Wimpole Hall at 4:00 (note time!), for a 4-5 mile walk, followed by a BBQ at the Wimpole restaurant. Cost £15 (includes fruit cup drink, BBQ, salads & Summer Pudding). Croquet and other games available. Please book for BBQ with the secretary, by 1/6/02.
