Since September 2007, I am retired. I do voluntary work and some supply teaching, and generally enjoy myself!
Since July 2006, I have been back in England, initially working as a property manager for a local property company (Ambassador), and then from October 2006, I was teaching at Burgoyne Middle School in Potton, Bedfordshire, as cordinator for Geography and History.
Intermittently from 2005 to 2009 I was editing the memoirs of Donald Welbourn, a leading 20th century engineer. For further information see Donald's memoirs page.
From December 2003 to July 2006 I was resident in Redlands in California (USA), accompanying my husband Paul who was working for ESRI. I did voluntary work (particularly at Children's Forest in the local San Bernardino mountains), and seeking leisure activities to keep me busy.
Until the end of 2003, I worked at the Independent Schools Association, as Professional Development Officer.
Before that I worked as National Coordinator at the Forest Education Initiative, an organisation funded jointly by the Forestry Commission the Timber Trade Federation, and the Woodland Trust to encourage appreciation of forests, trees and wood by children.
Prior to that, I have been a teacher in primary and middle schools for many years, and have also worked in libraries.
In addition, in the past I have done some private tuition,and taught English as a foreign language to overseas visitors who come to stay with us.
